A 29-year-old man has been arrested in Suffolk by police investigating reports that a motorist was seen driving with a gun.
A member of the public reported the man driving on Cumberland Avenue in Bury St Edmunds at about 13:30 BST.
Suffolk Police traced the vehicle to an address in Oakes Road and sent an armed response unit.
The man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear.
